Determination of irrigation through weight measurement

A number of growers have contacted Wireless Value and asked us to develop a wireless scale to measure irrigation and subsequent evaporation (weight loss). A scale with dimensions of 2 metres x 30 cm has been developed able to handle weights of up to 80 kg. Thanks to the measurement data, the irrigation frequency can be optimised for each sprinkler. By placing a wireless scale in each sprinkler, a clear overview is provided which you can consult directly from your computer.

In combination with the wireless technology, the scales ensure easy access to irrigation control and optimisation. The flexibility of the system allows all kinds of different sensors to be connected (RAP, radiation, CO2, plant temperature, etc.). This shows that the measuring weight instead of soil moisture provides much greater accuracy.

Our weighing system is used, inter alia, for:

  • Hydrangeas
  • Phalaenopsis
  • Tomatoes
  • Aubergines
  • Cucumbers

Clear overview

You can log in via the Internet to your own Wireless Value online portal. Here you can view, depending on your sensors, via graphics and maps, important measurement data such as:

  • Climate uniformity and disease levels
  • Soil moisture, soil EC and soil temperature
  • Plant weight, irrigation and evaporation

Wireless Value Agri is an easily-expandable system. Thanks to the wireless modules, there is no limit to the number of sensors you can attach to the system. We are also able to connect existing sensors at your site to our wireless platform.
